New Tranny For ZC?
i had a dx tranny on my dual cam zc forever, and it sucked compared to the si tranny i put on a couple weeks ago. gas mileage rocked on the dx, and i drive a lot of highway, but i really dont care, the si tranny just keeps me driving a little slower(not a bad thing)....it totally rules around town though, the higher final drive makes it easier to stop-go drive i think.
There is little difference in the gear ratios between the DX and Si trannies. If your DX tranny is in good shape, use it. You never know what kind of tranny you might get, especially from people who race their cars.

gear ratio-wise the dx and si are the same, so shifting will feel the same, but the final drive is better on the si, a bit higher. you get out of the hole faster

Yeah with my DX if I was in 5th on the freeway I could jam down the pedal and it would take like 5 minutes to go 1mph more. With the ZC if I touch the pedal I can feel its still right in the torque range.

I also noticed the dx and si gears are all the same and the final drive is a bit higher on the si. What does the final drive actually mean? if the gear ratios are the same aren't they pretty much the same trannies

Where could I get a good Si Tranny for my ZC then?
I was originally gonna buy the ZC tranny but now I've changed my mind. Also, if I could save up for like another 6 months or so do you think I should just get the B16 with the Y1? I mean, I know the B16 is pretty damn phat but I want an engine now b/c my engine just has no power after 50 mph. And I race some of my friends and sometimes even am gettin beat by autos. Embarrassing but my car has 150,000 miles and it's all stock so I guess that could happen or maybe I just suck at shifting.
