My temp gauge thinks it's a tach!!? Please help!!
oK so I install my new GC/koni suspension on the front of my car. now my temp gauge moves as I rev the car up. Then after the car is warmed up and I shut it off, I won't start again! The only wiring I touched during the install was the fuse box on the left shock tower, which I unbolted to remove the two shock bolts. Then I go to start my car after the install and I won't start. The temp gauge also seems to be effected more when the headlights are on. Load maybe?
On another note. Any ideas on how to loosen the rear shock fork bolts? the ones that connect the LCA to the shock fork. I can get one nut off, but then the bolt won't slide out, even with encouragement from a sledgehammer!
Car is a 1990 HB with a B16 swap BTW
Thanks!

ok I really need some help here...I have gone through the ENTIRE wiring harness, all the ECU pinout are correct. I have never had a problem up until now! I change my front suspension and BAM! All sorts of electrical problems. Car won't start intermittently, intermittent loss of VTEC, coolant temp gauge moves up as I rev the car (only when it is warmed up it seems)!
Anyone know where the main harness grounds?

to get that bolt out you need to twist and pull it at the same time. youll have even more fun getting it to go back in if you havent dont it already. i have no clue on your electrical problem though
good luck

Valve cover ground is OK, main harness ground is OK, battery ground is OK. Now it sounds like the ignition switch is going out, it makes a clicking sound, but won't turn over. Starter is grounded, all fuses are good, everything is wired properly. This one is really stumping me. I even took it to a pretty reputable local shop and they were stumped after 1 hour of trying to locate the problem. Anyone have any other ideas??
I used the new ground control aluminum top hats for the suspension. Could that be the problem? Also my tach has had a slight "twitching" problem for about a year, were it jumps up about 200 rpm every once in a while>>> seems to be related to the current problem....

is the fuse box a ground location for the gauge cluster? if so, where is the ground on the fuse box?
my temp gauge seems to be having the same problem as jisu009. i had to relocate my fuse box when the cage was put in and i am only use 1 of the 3 mounting holes. i think this is the cause for my problem.
i also need to check the engine wiring harness ground, but i think that is good.

If it ticks you ign switch is okay. Check all the connections on the back of your starter. As for your gauge problem. I feel safe telling you it is definitely a ground side problem. I'm not sure where the ground is for the fuse box you moved but that sounds like it has a good chance of being your problem. A bad ground will cause all hell to break loose in an electrical system.

For the bolt put the nut back on and tap it until you can get a wrench UNDER the head, then pry the wrench while turning the bolt with another wrench until it gets out as far as it will go. It should be easier to pull after that. Also try raising the suspension up and down with jack as you do this, when there is weight on any of the bolts it just gets harder.
