sup guys, i'm kinda new to the world of accords. Well anyways, my brother owns the 1997 Accord LX sdn. He wanted to know if theres any cheap upgrades for the car (i.e. intake) that are worth it. Is the LX engine worth upgrading? I've driven a 2000 Civic EX cpe, and that civic just can't keep wit his accord. I dunno why...torque? The accord is so much more heavy, yet it only has 3 more horses. Any explanation? THe civic has VTEC too so whats da deal here. Anyways whats the best intake for the accord lx?

 

hahaha.. check to make sure all the oil is in the Civic. hahaha

Man... an accord outran a civic ex, that's sad.

 

sorry but the civic ex is the slowest piece of ****. keep in mind the civic ex is auto. oh yeah, the accord has a much nicer ride too.

If you have an LX that means you probably got the SOHC 2.2L (F22 motor) which is a lagger motor. Not bad.. but IMO not worth moddiing up. But truthfully I put in a Hot air intake and it sounded great (nice deep sound while floored) is this LX an AUTO?? if so Keep it stock.

F22 motor great for dependability! I had mine over 110K and still ran strong!@
