Driving Impressions: 2002 Hyundai Accent
Well I've had this rental for a week now, and I thought I would give some commentary. Car seems ok, probably about as fast a 90's Civic DX Auto. Despite what poeple might say, the car is put together pretty well. Body panels and interior are put together good, not really any rattles. Lots of plastic, but hey its a cheap car, that sells for new what most of you paid for your used Civic.
I think with a manual transmission and a Beta swap, it could have some hope, possibly go against all those damn B16 Civics
The one thing that really hit me, going from my car to this, was the suspension. This thing floats like no other, it reminds me of my Mom's Plymouth Voyager. This car takes turns 20 MPH less than my car and still leans alot harder.
The intake manifold looks pretty questionable, like a freaking milk jug.
I made a video to see how long it would take to go from 60-80 on the highway and it came in right at about 12 seconds.....wooppee
Radio also wasn't the best, it doesn't really ever get loud. There is also audible distortion whenever you adjust the volume. Also I think the speakers are wired out of phase between the front and the back, cause if you put your head close to the sterring wheel , or in the back seat the bass is considerably louder, and then it thins out when your about equal distance between all four speakers.
A/C is also very cold, and amazingly you can't even feel it kick in when you turn on the compressor. Unlike my Integra, where I could feel the engine just bog down.
All in all not a bad car for what it is. If I bought this I wouldn't be disapointed.

Distributers work just fine, plus the user can actually adjust them.
No I wasnt racing the van, I was doing like 75 then I slowed down to 60 to do the movie, but the van just kept doing like 75 or so.
