Default Another JDM ITR momo SRS wheel question

How the heck do you take the damn thing apart, I have the helms and can take the airbag out of the USDM wheel, but I don't know how to remove the airbag on the JDM wheel.

Anyone know?

2 star like screw behind the wheel must be screwed off and the air bag falls out.

Hey, let me know the truth about the signal cable reel situation after u install yours in your R. I gave up one because people told me that it messed up the signal return on one of the directions because I took my USDM wheel off and found out I have to turn the cable reel to accomodate the JDM one.

Is it just the style, or what?

I have a JDM wheel that I've never bothered installing.

I thought that as time wore on and the car was tracked more and more, I'd want the smaller wheel. However, I find myself enjoying shuffle steering with the bigger USDM wheel.

So...why do we keep buying these expensive JDM SRS wheels?</TD></TR></TABLE>

For me it is purely because of cosmetic reasons, I like the look and feel of the wheel in my Toyota matrix which is about 350mm, three spoke and leather wrapped. I wanted something similar in the teg, without giving up the added protection of the SRS. The JDM wheel was the best option.

Cliff notes: Canuck is a closet JDM ricer!

i want the wheel cuz it is smaller in diameter than the Mercedes Truck size wheel we have stock. makes turning easier and prevents my knees from hitting the wheel all the time when i shift or heel/toe and the like, and it retains SRS

Haha, agreed!

George: I never really had a problem with the stock wheel, and in fact I liked it much more than my LS 'teg steering wheel because of the leather wrap. But when I put a Momo racing wheel in my hatch, I discovered I liked the smaller diameter a lot more. Now when I then get in the ITR, it feels like.... well, like described above, lol. Plus, admittedly, I saw several JDM SRS wheels at the Expo and they were pretty nice - Cosworth and others let me sit in their car and check it out, and it was just too blingy bling to resist when I was able to get one for half the price I usually see them for. (should have it next week)
