Default clunking sound and shocks?

Im getting this clunking noise every once and a while coming from the front right and left side....near the wheels. Could that be a sign of blown shocks??

When you tightened up your bolts while installing did you have the shock compressed under the cars weight? Jack it up from right around where the bottom end of the shock is mounted and jack it up until you see the car to start lifting off of the jack stands and then torque the nuts. I did that and it fixed my problem.
