Default B18A Rods and ITR pistons

Will I need to do this mod?? It says for B16/17's but B18C don't....What about the A/B??

the A/B's do. Instead of milling the rod...mill the pistons. lighter pistons are good, and milling the rods just gives me the creeps

as long as you shot peen/condition the rod they will be fine. Milling the piston is too hard to do.

appreciate that info....Was just wanting to make sure b/c this pic didn't say anything about A/B. now just need to find a shop that will accually shotpeen rods...

The issue is that B18Cx stuff is 17.5mm wide, and the rest are 19.5mm wide. GSRs and Type Rs, basically, are the narrow ones. That is the 'why'.

As for 'hard' -- let the estimate from the shop help you decide. I'd tend to agree with leaving the rods alone and shave the pistons, personally, because I'd worry less about weakening and high rpm failures.
