Hondata Tuned Hatch/B18c1 Dyno
Car belongs to "95C1V1CSI"
95 Civic Hatch with stock sleeves/block guard and forged pistons/rods with MaxRev Manifold and Skunk2 manifold. P28 Ecu 550 injectors
Only limiting factor was the injectors which were maxing out at 14psi. The 18psi run below was a mistake but it made over 400HP.
Datalog: Note the aberrant ignition timing curve! This seems like a glitch in the hondata software and was NOT 30degrees advanced in boost.

I disagree. hes at 1 lambda in the final few hundred RPM.. thats a 14.7:1 a/f ratio.
Not something Id want...

The only place I see the 1 lambda is at the end with the spike... which i'm sure is where they let off of the throttle, and then when he's back on it but that's in vac.

the fueling is dead on perfect. the tuning was even more refined on the street. I always spend more time tuning on the street to get all the hesitation tuned out. You would never know this car from a stock car until the boost kicks in and pins your head to the seat.
As for the timing, as I said, there is a flaw in the Hondalogger software that shows the wrong advance on the high cam in boost!!!!!! I confirmed it with a dial back timing light (I put my head under the hood while he ran boost and watched the timing actually pull back in boost) so all is good!!
I'll let the owner of the car comment further if he wants.

actually as boost comes on strong, it shows about 0.86-0.88 but you can see that settles out to 0.82 or so. I also know that there is a slight offset the Honda ECU sees vs what I know the A:F to really be at since there is a slight voltage drop at the ECU vs what my wideband display reads. I have not taken the time to adjust for the impedence of the Honda ECU with my wideband (common problem for a lot of people!)

Guys, Torin is a great tuner. He takes much consideration in making sure that the tuning is right on target. As for the hondata, i think there are a few flaws that we talked about with the boost level, and timing. He had the ***** to sit in front of the car while dynoing and read the timing under boost.
Street tuning is great. It really makes your car a very smooth drive and i highly recommend it to all people. It really does drive like a stock car(with boost of course)
I did just want to thank Torin for everything. I will be back to see him even tho it takes 9 hrs to get here.
BTW Avator, The car pulls really really hard. It sets me back in my seat for sure.
for "Gruvytunes"!

i have to agree.... torin's a great guy.....he really cares how your car comes out when he tunes it.....not like some other shops who are just in it for the $$..... he deffinatly gets two big

Thanks guys for the positive feedback. Tuning is definitely part science, part art. Mostly patience, though to get it right. I guess my situation is different. People drive very far at times to get to me so I do my best to get it right the first time. That means spending the majority of the time on the street getting the part throttle tuning dead on to tune out hesitation. Some times with many add ons its not 100% but usually gets very close.
I'll reitterate. Its crucial to take the time to make sure everything works perfectly before taking your car to the shop to get it tuned. Don't rush. Its easy to be impulsive because of the addictive nature of boost!!! I'm sure BrokeVtec can attest to this. Poor guy's car puts out 500HP but we're pulling out hair out over a stupid intermittent bug in his timing.
For those who have been PM'ing me with bug issues about the Hondata software, I have reported them to Hondata and they seem to be quite real ---specifically the timing logs and the MAP sensor readings that read too low on the Version 3 software.
