Grinding when clutch is disengaged...(not "gear grinding")..tranny experts
When i press the clutch the sound goes away, but when i release, the sound makes a slight grinding/rubbing noise. The RPMS will go lower and lower if I do this over and over until they stay at around 1000 rpms or so.
I was thinking this was the tranny idler gear? anyone else with input?

If it was the throw-out bearing, it would make the noise with the clutch pedal pushed in (with the clutch dis-engaged). It could be any of the bearings down there; check your pilot bearing first, and if necessary, crack the tranny open to check things out in there.
doubt its the throwout bearing...has like 500 miles on it, so does the clutch
