Default Opinions Please!!

OK I am going to be doing the water pump and timing belt on my motor before it goes in and was wondering what you guys think spend $50 for the water pump ($26) and the timing belt ($24) from Autozone with a lifetime warranty on the water pump. Or spend $85 on a timing belt and water pump new from Honda? List was normally about $115 but it turns out I know the guy so he's giving me a bit of a discount on the stock Honda parts. I mean I went down there and you know how the Honda parts slingers are "Honda OEM parts all the way!!" but yet when I was trying to get an intake manifold gasket the techs at Honda said that the FelPro gasket was much better than the OEM Honda IM gasket?? I had broughten the aftermarket (FelPro) down to them to compare it since I am putting the Z6 IM onto the A6 head. Oh and just for info so people know the only difference from the OEM IM gasket in the Z6 and the A6 is the place where a little nipple like thing sticks out from it and the aftermarket FelPro one has none (they dont do anything anyway).
So can anyone justify spending $35 dollars more on Genuine Honda parts with no warranty over aftermarket with a lifetime on the water pump?? I mean aftermarket is suppose to be just as if not better than OEM parts anyway right? So what would there be a more of a chance for the aftermarket one to fail over the OEM one?? I guess the main question would be with the water pump cause I would think that a timing belt is a timing belt correct? So anyone with a opinion please feel free to leave it but please explain why you would do one over the other as well though.

I've asked my mechanic and he says that factory is the way to go. I agree with him. Most offbrands are rebuilt, I rather buy new. Good Luck

Yeah but thats the whole thing is that the water pump with the lifetime warranty is new not remanufactured. I could have also gotten a rebuilt one from AutoZone as well and saved a few bucks also so instead of like $26 for the new one with the lifetime warranty it would have been like $22 with a 3 month warranty. So then your saying that if its new you would go with aftermarket??
Thanks everyone for your replaies I think that I will just go with the AutoZone parts I mean a Tbelt is a Tbelt not like an aftermarket company is using cheaper rubber than OEM Honda would be and even in some cases aftermarket is better since they research the parts and build it better than what it would have been and OEM just sticks with OEM.

Lifetime warrenty on a waterpump doesn't cover the labour to put it in and take it out if it ***** up. and a timeing belt is not a timing belt. Buy Honda. You don't buy a civic and put a toyota motor in there do you??? Well then why buy parts from a company that makes generic parts. Honda buddy thats the only way. You'll see I was right when you have to pull the fucken pump out a couple of times.

Yeah you are right it doesnt cover the labor BUT I have taken other parts to Honda and they even said that some of the aftermarket parts are better than the OEM parts. See with OEM its always the same atleast with aftermarket there are standards that they have to follow and not only that they try to improve on OEM parts so that its actually better than OEM. I know there are plenty of people that say OEM is the way to go but I used an Autozone t-belt and water pump in my other CRX and didnt have any problems with them but that was also when I didnt really care about that motor thats why I asked for other peoples opinions.
