So earlier tonight I get off of work to meet some HT members for some Bennigans. (Tsunami_zc, 98mrgs-r, awskalis04, and some Team-Integra members) So on the way there I was cruising along the interstate when the person ahead of the person ahead of me slams on their brakes for a unapparent reason. So of course the girl ahead of me slams on hers too. Now keep in mind I am about a car length behind her so as she is fishtailing ahead of me I am trying to slow down without getting hit from behind. From what I can see she got control of the car in the lane next to me but I guess not. She swerves into my lane and hits my drivers side rear quarter panel. When we pull over I find out it is an asian girl who can barely speak english in her late 90's Accord. She gives me her name and # and tells me to call her later to talk to someone who can talk good english. Luckily I remembered to grab her license plate number just in case.

Well, I finally call her back and her father says she is busy and that she will call me. An hour later her boyfriend calls me back to talk about the wreck. He doesn't want to go through the insurance company and wants just to pay me the money to fix it and that he works at Jotech Motorsports here in Garland.

So now along with my messed up front end, (from a Chevy), and hail damage from last week, I now have damage to my rear quarter panel. I don't have a digital camera right now but I am going to post some before and after pics in the next upcoming weeks.

ahh I know how you feel... I got rear ended last Wednesday, then 2 days later on Friday night, a minivan pulled out in front of me and messed up my front right fender/bumper

You should have gotten her insurance information and an accident report anyways. I hope you don't get screwed over.

 

I dont think I will. The guy seemed really cool about it. I know where he works anyway. I have to get an estimate from a dealership.

 

Man that sucks. I suggest to not go through the insurance if you can, because one thing your insurance may go up (even thought it's not yoru fault) and another thing it'll be a record. Hell, if he's offering to fix it then I say go for it ! If it's a bad job them tell them to fix it ryte ! If they won't time for a law suit ! Heheh. Means more mods to come ! LoL.

 

Yeah, my insurance is high enough as it is. He is offering to pay to fix it not fix it himself. I am going to take it to a Acura dealership and get factory parts.

Try staying further behind the person your following than a car length.

And your car will not get as many stone chips either. Defensive driving costs less bro.

 

I understand what your saying but I think a car length is enough space. Of course I would rather it not of happend but things happen that are out of our control.

 

my mom backed up into my front bumper the other day, i took down all her info and im gonna sue her ....j/k...well she did back up into me, but i aint gonna sue her

i know what ur going thru about the insurance thing.
u just cant be too careful about other people's word.
make sure u get it in writing that this guy from jotech will pay for the damages from the body shop of your choice and be 100 % satisfied about the work once its finished.
