My '91 accord ex coupe weighs 2130lbs......
i went to the local 1/8 mile track last saturday and weighed the car finally. it weighed 2330 w/ driver(me) and i weigh between 190-200. so, the car weighs in around 2130lbs, give or take a few.
i know that 2130 isnt **** compared to most civic, crx, and, teg race cars but considering the car started out around 2900lbs, it puts things in perspective.
judging by the pictures, one might think the car weighs like 1500lbs but it still has a WHOLE lot of factory parts.
just thought i would share.....thanks!

what a waste of a good car if you wanted a race car you should have bought a crx or something light already but why do that to a accord?? i just dont get it .....

Oh lord, there we go again.
That was not close to a hint of where the topic was headed to. Lame comment.
Leave place for originality, and try to appreciate it.
This guy has one of the quickest NA allmotor Accord in North America, that should speak for itself. Bow down to his car, don't bash him!
kentucky accord, when are we getting updated numbers?

if that is a pure drag car where is the the safety gear, don't they require that?
excuse my lack of drag race knowledge

nice job but it looks like the integrity of the unibody has been seriously weakened so try not to hit anything OK?
800 lbs diet is a good job

well, i think sauceman hit the nail on the head w/ the originality statement. of course, originality isnt always the smartest or the coolest move, lol. i knew going into it that it would be an uphill battle w/ keeping the f22 and using an accord for a "race" car.
im not going for All Motor trophies or titles or trying to compete w/ the big dogs. im just out to have fun and maybe make a good showing for accords/f22s.
as for safety, im not running fast enough yet to warrant a cage and a cage right now would just be dead weight. the structure of the unibody hasnt been effected what so ever. the only thing i cut out that would make it more dangerous on the street are the bumper cores, the factory glass(although i use lexan and its shatterproof), and the cross bars in the doors.
the # havent dropped much from last year because the car hasnt changed much.
best 1/8 mile time: 8.89@76mph
best 1/4 mile time: 13.91@94mph

oh yeah, a lot of the sound deadening material is still in it. i didnt have access to a heat gun and a hair dryer wasnt cutting it. i spent a few hours messing around w/ it and got pretty much all of it out of the trunk, and other areas but i need to spend a whole day on it.
yeah, dead pedal was there for me when i drove it on the street. this car was still on the street until recently. yes, lexan windows and all, it was on the street.
thanks for pointing it out! it can get out of there now.

no caution, safety, or dummy lights come on in the cluster. i dont have cluster lights but my headlight and tails still work. you have to have some sort of visible tail light for night drag racing.
