i am purchasing a jdm itr longblock and i need a tranny, i would prefer a new itr transmission and i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find one. thanks

as far as i know, you can only get new trannies through the dealership.

 

Im pretty sure only the dealer will sell you a new usdm itr tranny. As far as availability is concerned I got mine the same day the shop ordered it. Of course thats because Acura delivers to the shop every day. That was about 3 weeks ago.

 

I've heard that spoon trannys are actually cheaper than new ones from the dealer.

 

That is correct, Spoon trannies were cheaper than buying from Acura.

However, Spoon B-series trannies have been discontinued and are no longer available.

 

I have heard a few stories of the Spoon trannies leaking. I know its a small percentage but I just didnt want to deal with it. Its nothing a little Hondabond wont fix.
