putting Type R LSD in GSR tranny... shims?
I've heard about the posible need for shims when installing a Type R LSD in another tranny but I aslo heard that the GSR tranny case is the same as a type R so I shouldn't need to shim it. Is this true?
I'm kinda worried about this. Could someone shed some light on the situation?

most GSR trannies take the ITR LSD without shimming ... well at least the 100 or so trannies I've done ...

the 94 gsr differential uses differnt style bearings than the newer style itr bearings
the newer style bearings are nicer
you will need to shim the differential

What would be the best way to do this as those shims seem to be special order and would not want down time to order them. Is is worth buyin a bunch of diff size shims so that when we put the lsd in we can do everything at once.
I believe you have to feeler gauge the space between the casing and the berring to determin the proper shim. So buying a bunch at might not due you good it cant take more than a day to order from acura or honda
Considering that they cost $10 a piece, I don't think you want $200 worth of spare shims laying around after you're done.
