tcm= tranny control module

jump your service connector, and it'll (the D4 light) flash a trouble code like you check engine light. match that with the helms manual, or i can get it for you tonight.

yeah, just jump the connector and count the D4 light, just like you do with the CEL.

post back up the code.

i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong... i jumped the connector and turned the power on-the D4 light came on for like 2 seconds then it went away and didn't seem like it was coming back... i rejumped the connector and it started blinking every other second and kept that same pattern... help..!

Well over the weekend, I had that problem. Some fluid got inside the solinoid harness below the radiator. There are two harnesses right next below the radiator hose that connects to the block. Unplug those and check both to see if they have any type of fluid in them.

Mine was blinking all the time, from previous experience if it only blinked for a short period of time, my tranny soon gave out a few weeks down the line.

Hope that made some sense.

if it's a 6th gen, it should be the tranny

Default check

Did you check the two harness(plugs) that I mentioned. They are resting in the front on a metal clip next to the engine code. I had some fluid in mine and the D4 lite was no longer blinking.

The tranny trouble codes are different from the engine codes.

OBD2 automatic Honda's can also throw tranny trouble codes via the D4 light, when the service connector is jumped.

they are a comepletely different set of codes.

AKUFC, i checked the two harness (plugs) that you mentioned-they seem to be fine... however, there was this one solenoid (or whatever you call it) that wasn't connected to anything... but there was nothing to connect it to either... sorry for the really bad pic... i'll have to retake it again tomorrow or something... it's near the abs motor relay box and it has 2 wires coming from it... one is black and orange... i forget what colors the other wire had... i'm not sure if that's related to the blinking D4 light...

If you want I could take a pic of the harnesses that are by the abs relay box, for a reference I guess.

check to see if you got a loose harness somewhere near there... this could be completely irrelevant but i was looking at hondata's site and noticed "94 and 95 Accords have EGR (A11) and the O2 heating (A6) reversed and must be rewired..." not sure if shop missed that or not-i'll have to check tomorrow... could it be a possibility..?

The four cylinder trannys are not the ones that have been giving trouble to people. It is the V6 trannies and the prelude automatics that have been acting up, however if you change the tranny fluid more frequently then they seem to be fine. That is just my opinion on how to make the trannies last longer, because the cleaner the fluid the better i say.

accordexchange- well?

did the shop **** up your car or what? Or was it just a factory tranny giving out on 10 psi of boost ?

if i could i would blame the shop for installing the drag 4 turbo kit wrong!

Or maybe its the oil return line the fucked up on if you know what that is?!

blame factory flaws on the shop thats always a good point! ha ha LMFAO!

I had this happen to my accord on the old tranny, and it happened to my friends 5th gen as well, for both of us, it was a solenoid on the tranny, im having a brainfart and cant think of the name, but if you look at your tranny, its the little round can looking solenoid, there are 2 of them on the front of the tranny. I was told by a tech that the flashing light is always electrical problem w/ the tranny, that mechanical problems wont produce the flashing d4 light generally. If you have a picture looking down at your tranny I can show you the solenoids, they cost about 100 bucks from Honda

DRAG4ACCORD, i'm tired of your assumptions and your pathetic attempts to flame me... there was no blinking D4 light when i was on the vafc hack... it appeared after the hondata installation... installation or hondata-related problem..? who knows... what does the oil return line have to do with it..?? and how could the turbo kit be installed wrong..? you always hope that my tranny will give out, etc... i hope you grow up...

juicedh22, thanks for the info-i also think it's some kind of electrical issue... if it were mechanical, i'm sure the car would not be driving normally...

Your point seemed to be blame it on the shop. Which unless he had some PROOF he will be laughed at.
