How can you tell if cyl. 1 is TDC besides mark on cam gears?
Im performing doing my firts valve adjustment. I have some S2 camg gears and I just want to confirm that they were installed correctly. Im thinking the degree marks on the gears represent the "UP" position, but im not totaly sure. So, I wanted to know if there was another way of checking #1 is TDC besides going by the marks on the gears. I read something about 4 holes lining up at TDC but can someone please explain better. Thanx.
Well after reading another thread on the subject matter, I am gonna try the following. Put a very long stick on the #1cyl.... turn engine until stick goes all way up and stops going. That would have to be TDC.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Sleeper »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Crank pully has a white mark on it to designate TDC when it lines up with the tab on the lower timing belt cover.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I would reccomend this over the stick method
