People do sooo much just to steal a type-r..my bro's friend had a type r . In the middle of the night while he was sleeping. people knew he had a type r. The thieves went to his house. his R was in the garage. the people UNLATCHED his garage door. took it off and then jacked his type r. but he didnt hear them driving away. people go soo far just to get one.

yup... the demand for parts is out there... so obviously the stolen part market is out there as well.... and all those who don't really care where their parts came from actually perpetuates theft.
all ya have to do is scroll through a few pages in the type r forum.. i'm sure u can read up on lots of stolen r's.. it really sucks.. but if thieves really want something they'll take it..

This crossed my mind today as I was driving down the highway, I see a black integra and the driver seems unfamiliar with his car, he's driving extremely slow. A cop passes him up without thinkin twice why this guy is goin about 35 in a 55. Is there any way us "CIVILIANS" can run plates to see if the car was stolen. Where we can run plates like the cops. I don't know just a thought to try and combat the theft.

man you guys should shut the hell up...this guy was just sharing his experience with us, and he is a NooB...leave him alone, it is people like you guys that make people leave these forums...
this is obviously one of his first threads and he is getting flamed already...you all should grow and take this thread for what it was...somewhat informational...
i hear people all the time "make sure its in a garage"...he is showing us that even that wont stop a determined thief...
maybe we can all learn from this thread...perhaps put alarms on our garages??? i never actually thought of that till now, and it sounds like a damn good idea now doesnt it...
get off his ***** and welcome another member without flaming him...
and by the way, for whoever said "this doesnt seem like a tech question"...WE ARENT IN THE TECH FORUM...GET YOUR HEAD out of your ***, i dont even know this dude that posted and yet i feel the need to defend him when idiots like you are around...
not afraid to stand up for fellow honda/acura owners,
Todd

feel the same way of how you flame this guy
it happened around my way
at a honda dealership
they had in stock 6 civic SI's
6 tow trucks came in and moved about 12 cars
just to get the SI's
and drove off with them
so I think thats just going overboard
with it
so think about it
someone going into your garage and taking your ride
how would you feel...

seriously, the guy was just telling a damn story. If u don't like it then go to another f*ing post. Why do people have to act like such dicks? My car was stolen so that's the reason i read this post. If u feel the need to flame then why the hell did u read it too? Why can't people just get along?
