Streetable H22A....Need Advice
Im swapping an h22a into my 97ex. I have brand new brakes and a Tokico Sport Suspension...(the blue ones) Ive been told this will be fine for the suspension, but I may want to go with Tein later. Im putting full exhaust, headers, intake, VAFC, extreme clutch, spoon p13 and thats about it so far. Im hoping to break into the 13's with this setup. I drive a ton and for now this is my only car, however I want it a bit faster i think....What should I do. I thought about turbo, but the reliablility concerns me. Pistons, Rods, Head Kit? will this drop the 1/4 time by a bunch. What could I do to put the car in the mid to high 12's and be streetable? Please Help.......and how do i get out of Trial Mode (only 5 posts per day)
i wouldnt call an h22a 12 sec car reliable for daily driving purposes unless your using Nitrous to get into the 12s, since the only stress will be when squeezing, but a turbo will wear the motor out, and very quickly if its not tuned properly, tuned right it can last for a while but your looking at alot of money , once you open up your motor the reliablility is compromised..if you know how to drive 13s shouldnt be that hard to come by..later
since you own a civic thats much lighter than the prelude, 13's are possible with mods you listed. however, you better make sure you got traction. slicks would be nice, or at least drag radials. you should break 13's with no problem.
to go faster and keep reliability, i'd suggest some nice cams. SKUNK2 stage2 cams are a good deal from what i hear. but make sure you do it right, don't forget about the valve train.
as far as turbo goes, boosted H22 in a civic doesn't sound like a driveable, reliable, everyday commuter unless a lot of money is dumped into it. just my opinion.
