h-22 from 2000 prelude type SH swap questions
ok i blew the mototr on my 95 accord and my friend found me a mototr from a new prelude type SH. whole motor trans and ecu. hel told me that the type SH have a traction control system that is hard to work around? does any one know about this or what to do to avoid the TCS? can it just be turned off? also i have heard that the power stering pumps don't line up or something like that? or if there are any wiring issues? any help would be greatly appreciated
Type sh's are bastard h22a's I would aviod it personaly. The only time i have heard of this swap workign is when the ATTS transmission is removed and a standard H or F tranny is put in its place. I also belive you will have issues wtih the ecu since it has the controler for the ATTS in it and will be looking for it. Going into an obd 1 car it could cause quite a few headaches. If it is costing you more than 2300 I would just go and order a standard OBD1 swap to keep it easy.
Good luck with it.

it will run fine but its going to suck droping out of vtec all the time. then again hell my car only sees vtec once out of ever 5-8 times I drive it. Keep in mind I only drive it on the weekends too so I dont do it that often.

The atts is in the way plus wiring it up to work would be a nightmare. You would have to cut the firewall I think to get it to acutally fit. There fore unless you want to hack up ther frame of your car, it wont work. Not to mention if you did get it to fit getting the right axles is a whole second issue.
because the Type SH had ATTS, active torque transfer system, think of it as an electronic limited slip differential, it has a special ECU, a special tranny, weird mounts, and guess what, its not meant to be in anything but a Prelude SH
my recommendation is to either sell the SH tranny and ECU and use the $ to buy a regular H22a tranny and ECU or just sell the whole swap/dont buy it
its a headache like you have never seen trying to get it to work

I did the 2000 h22a4 sh swap. I is a pain to work around,, but it isnt impossible. I used the sh tranny, and ddint hook up the atts. As for the ecu, I would recommend an obd1 conversion w/ a p13 ecu, and a vafc to lean it out and lower vtec.
