Anybody does this on a 5g? Is the kit really necessary or can I pick up the wires and shyt and fab the brackets?

Thanks!

The kit is mad cheap, you could make your own kit, but I recommend buying one, it'll be easier. Also I think most of the kits don't include a "distributor." It's like a metal wire connector bracket you use to attach the new wires to the old ones. They're like 5 bucks at Radio Shack.

Got any links to where I can find the kit. I couldn't find any on the suggestions...JCWhitney and Summit. Do you mind giving me a hand? Thanks!

Sure, I believe this is the link to it:

There are some other places that carry more expensive kits, like in the 100 dollar range, but the only thing they have that is different is a metal box, etc.

This kit should be fine. You'll only need to purchase the distributor, it's a little metal bracket that connects all the wires, and it mounts on the side of the engine bay. Generally I believe its for stereos or something, but it works fine for batteries, you can get them at Radio Shack I believe. Good luck, this is a very easy mod, and worth it!

Also you might want to get an Optima battery for it, these don't release any fumes or anything.

I've heard they are nice.

i thought they ran from 50 to 100...if not just get that battery case which routes the batteries heat to the outside of your car...

Hey 94, thanks a lot, that is really cheap! 42.95 ! The Yellow Top may be a little much for me right now because I'm putting together a turbo kit and it will be a lot easier to re-route the battery to the rear. Thanks for your help!

most tracks require relocated batteries to be ina box, which comes with the kit.

I would also recommend a hawker battery, they are alot smaller and lighter, and can be mounted in any position.

yea should be fine. plus it wont die as fast as your regular battery. it allows you to use your system with your car off.
