Default Dyno'd 98 GSR.....

My friend got her 98 GSR dyno'd.....it layed down 172.1 hp and 129.3 tq @ wheels after some tuning with the v-afc....what do ya think? mods are as follows:

AEM cold air
DC header
test pipe
stock exhaust
chipped P28 ecu
MSD 6al
FPR
AEM cam gears
AEM pulleys
no ps belt
v-afc
Skunk2 IM

I don't know why its putting down crazy tq for a GSR, seems higher than normal.......will post a chart when I can take a pic of it....

Those are crazy high numbers for that setup. Are those numbers SAE corrected?

Why is this so hard to believe? I was there when it was dyno'd and the person who tuned the car knows what they are doing. The VAFC helped a ton.

When he posts the dyno sheet, im sure the doubters will still call BS.

"172.1 hp and 129.3 tq @ wheels" with stock GSR cams is highly unlikely. The stock exhaust is not free flowing enough to extract that kind of HP out of the stock cams, if you can even get that much power out of the stock cams. Now, change the cams and you have a different story.

However, I'd still be interested in seeing a dyno chart and finding out if those numbers are corrected.

BUT not impossible, everyone is just as shocked as you are. But it wasnt like it was 1 pass, it was multiple passes and with each tune it fluctuated but this is what it ended at with more than 1 pass.

Its gotta be cammed.... With stock exhaust, and nearly stock header...nope. Even WITH CTR intake cam I cant see it making that much.
