Clutch sqeaks - Part II
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=27871
In continuing this post which is old, so I could not reply.
I've WD40 all the inside parts of the clutch pedal. And it still make that sound. It does sound like a "spring" sound. Thinking back, it happend ONLY AFTER I wash my engine for the first time.
I guess the things to look next are:
"throwout bearing"
and
"master clyinder"
What is it?
Where is it?
What can I do?
Thanks

clutch master cylinder is mounted on the firewall, directly above where the clutch would be inside. looks like a smaller brake master cylinder.
you might have luck with flushing fluid, but i've done it a couple times and have just learned to live with it. i dunno where that damn clutch squeek comes from.

Drew !
Look for leaks near the firewall behind/below the master cylinder.
Someone recently posted that thier MC was bad, but the leak was BEHIND the firewall (cabin side), up in the lower dash area, so it could be hard to spot.
Do you have to keep adding fluid ?
Take a look at the slave cylinder too, down by the exhaust header.
The slave is really easy to replace (you will need to bleed the system though).
Good luck bro....

My car did the same thing. I replaced the throw out bearing and now all is well.
Does it make the sound when engaging and disengaging the clutch?

Just fixed this on mine... turned out the throwout bearing had virtually no grease on it (I saw the guy apply a lot just before he installed it...) and when we disassembled the tranny, the only grease that remained was dried up. Not really sure why... just gonna try a different grease and see what happens. Peace, EV.
the perpetual squeaky clutch problem is something for which i've never heard a cure. i replaced both my clutch AND trans and it still squeaked.

On a CRX I worked on recently we pulled out the pin that the clutch pedal pivots on. It's held on with a bolt and pops out pretty easily. I greased it up, reinstalled it and no problems since.
well if you still have your trans apart from the engine take a look at the flywheel and the pressure plate......look for any grooves in either or both the pressre plate and the flywheel. it happend to me.
What type of clutch do you have? I had an ACT 6 puck clutch and it squeeked when i would feather it...hence not godd for daily driving at all...trust me...I also had a bad Clutch master cylynder, look under your dash and where your pedal attaches. mine was leeaking there. you should also replace your slave cylinder as well. they are cheap anyway. good luck
mine was doing the same thing only after warmed up. Tried the suggestion to spray some teflon lube (GUNK) into the linkage (open up the rubber bood at the slave cylinder and spray the fork assembly). NO more noise or binding!!
And to think, the dealer wanted to have me replace the entire clutch!!
idiots, thieves
