when you put the springs back on the car the weight of the car will conpress everything back together why not just cut the blue springs 1 or 2 coils

The ride is probably gonna suck (you will have the first honda pogo stick in your neighborhood) cutting progressive springs is not a hot idea.

ur gonna wreck those shocks..

but yeah just stick your arm in the wheel well when your lowering and seat it in the rubber.

also. the person on the jack make sure they know what they are doing, u can end up with a broken arm!

dude... you might as well not even put those springs on, even if you take out your bumpstop youll get 0 shock travel, it'll most likely ride like crap, and.... man just throw those away. If you want to lower your car that much get Sprint RX Extremes. I have them, they ride great, not bouncy at all, and no fender gap. The springs you got lower way more the 3.5 inches i guarantee you that. The RX's I have lower 3.25, even if they loweres 3.5 theyll still have a lot more travel than the springs you have...that looks like it lowers like 5 inches!

you think its low now? wait until theres a motor in there! just save up a few bux and get some uncut springs. oh and that little yellow bushing thing aka- bumpstop) is not just something to disregard. it prevents your strut from completely bottoming out. the combo of your cut springs and no bumpstops WILL destroy your struts and then you will not only need new springs, but new struts/shocks as well. do it right the first time.

You can buy a set of springs pretty cheap from any number of shops, or pick up a SS, SCC, IT or any magazine.. Never never cut, or buy cut springs.....why do you think he was selling them= they dont work.

well, you sure are stubborn! once you get the motor in there and drive the car around the block, you will see how shitty it is. the reason you feel stiffness is because you have absolutely no travel in your shocks. i give up. youll learn.

wat kind of motor are u pitting in it btw? If its a B-Series, have fun destroying your header. Seriously man, find a used set of skunk 2 or ground control coilovers, they arent that expensive, or get some Sprint RX Extremes, you can findem at like $100, then get some adjustable shocks and youll be nice and stiff. Otherwise, if you want totally stiff you might as well stick metal rods in there instead of those springs and shocks, because once you drop whatever motor it is in there, your car WILL be resting on your struts with your current springs.

Rx Extremes are plenty low enough...

the reason its so stiff it cause the shock is not moving... the car is just sitting on the top of the shock body... you can probably say good bye to those shocks.... as the saying goes... do it once and do it right.... I went a cheap route... gcs kyb agxs... or even skank2s

You might as well burn the money you were going to spend on Illuminas. You'll destroy any shocks you use with those "springs." Not to mention how incredibly dangerous it is to drive on those springs.

I hope this thread was made as a joke. If not, switch the springs before you drive that car on the street, or you will most definately sustain some kind of injury.

Thats what I thought. But then I read the "cut" part. Sorry man.
Whats gonna happen when you put the engine in? Won't that lower the car more?
Good luck.

in case you didnt use the search function, if you want more suspension travel use 86-89 accord front struts.
what was wrong with the eibachs that were on there? I have my CRX lowered about 2 1/4" and my header is all fucked up. you are going to have a hole in your header b4 a year is up if you lower your car like 4" and then throw in b16 turbo.
those Eibachs would have compressed more with the added weight of the B16 and the turbo, you might have been happy with it that way.
