Hi. I'm getting a ITR lsd tranny put into my hybrid civic which currently has a GSR tranny. Both the final drive ratio on the GSR and US ITR is the same. I'm not familiar with gear ratios, but will I feel a difference when I put the ITR tranny in? Any imput would be appriciated...

 

I can't find the specifics, but I think the ITR has shorter gearing than the GS-R, so you should notice a difference.

Ring and pinion are the same for both gearboxes and so is first gear, after that all of the gears are shorter and closer in the Type-R. You're gonna love it!

 

The ITR and GSR have very similar average HP ratings from 5000-8000, with the R having the better top end and GSR having a better low/mid. The ITR is significantly faster though...the diff in peak HP accounts for a little of this extra speed, but the shorter, tighter gears play just as big or bigger of a part. I don't know what a GSR with ITR tranny would run, but it would likely be 14.8-15.1, maybe less, bone stock.

 

And yes you will feel the difference.
