The recent RSX FP has killed any chance of there ever being a RSX Type R.
EDIT: I would not trade my car in for anything.
This is not the forum to discuss the RSX, so let's keep this topic related to the issue of whether or not one would trade in his car for a RSX-R (if it were to hit the market).

Sorry for sounding stupid, but what is RSX FP?
And no, I won't trade anything for my R in this price range.

No...cause then I'd have payments to cover every month and I'm skeptical the stock DC5R is faster than my ITR (straight or curves).

You don't sound stupid, especially considering how elitist we ITR owners are. Why would we care about a lowly RSX?
RSX FP = RSX Factory Performance
It looks like this. It's basically a bodykit and big wheels for ~$3k over the cost of a regular Type S.

Wow, ~$3k for the FP package?
Given ITR is approx. the same price as RSX Type S and if I have an extra $3k to spend on cosmetic, I rather have ITR + JDM front end + ~$1k left in my pocket than RSX Type S + FP package.

Just to give you guys a heads up on how a lowly little RSX is doing...Car and Driver just did a skidpad test of HyTech's RSX project car and with a Progress group suspension, and some BFG street tires did an average of .98g...not bad in my opinion.

I asked an Acura rep at the NYC auto show, and she was pretty negative about it. Compare that to last year (or maybe the year before) when they told me it was coming.
I suspect that the STi and the Evo make it a questionable marketting decision -- Honda doesn't really have an answer for those cars in the ITR. Maybe a TSX with the S2k motor? Still way down on power:weight though.
On a related note, the Honda rep seemed to suggest that the CTR was still a possiblity, whereas that was played down more when I asked last year.
As for the first question, I like the ITR a lot, but mine has 90k miles on it and things are starting to wear out. I'd like to keep it forever, but that's not really practical if it's my only car, and I'm not sure I'm ready to keep two cars.

Hondas in America are beginning to lose popularity in the same way that Hondas are not the most popular vehicles in Japan.
Honda is not a big power company and will not step into the fray. Even with the arrival of the CTR, Honda would have nothing to rival the STi or Evo.
