Does anyone with the B18b have a USDM/JDM type r header?
if anyone has a usdm or jdm type r header on their ls motor i need help. any info would help. i heard that it's great for high end but how is the install? what do i have to do to make it fit. what is the colloector on a stock ls header since i heard that the type r is a 2.5 inch. thanks.
I have the USDM R header....high end is nicer...low end sucks now....but its not too bad....oh well I got it dirt cheap anyway! The USDM R header bolts right up....I believe you will need a new cat with the JDM R header.
Yeah I have the USDM Type R Header on my 2000 LS. I also have a Type R AEM CAI, and USDM Type R Exhaust cat back. And a GSR Tranny. It all made a big difference but I'm just getting ready to throw some B16a pistons and a b16a head to make it the LS/VTEC monster lol. The type r header is ment for a high revving motor that makes the most of its power the the top end. The ls doesn't make power up top. So unless your going vtec or getting cams you don't need the type R header
My friend had a sweet setup in his coupe for a while.
It was a LS motor with B16A pistons and a 1 layer headgasket, and a JDM 4-1 header. With a Type R transmission, too.
That thing pulled pretty hard.
