Engine Stand bolt size??
quick question, I have my b18A sitting on a pallet now and picking up a engine stand tomarrrow without the bolts so it would be helpful if anyone could tell me what size i need? thanks
I dont have the tranny. would about the Length and pitch. Or should i go to honda and just buy 1 B-series tranny bolt and then match them up at a hardware store??
M12x1.25
80mm to 90mm is probably what you'll need in length, depending on the length of the engine stand carrier tubes. Whatever the length of the front LCA shock fork bolts are is the length that will work.
For the two lower holes, just get some really long bolts with various washers and a couple of nuts.

I was about to say make sure you get grade 8 bolts, but I forgot your engine is a tad lighter than mine, lol! You should still get grade 8 if it is going to sit for any amount of time on an engine stand.

Regardless of grade, I wouldn't use any bolt on there that you're gonna have to put back on the car.
I bent the front LCA bolts and those are grade 10's.

I tried for weeks to find bolt that were long enough with zero success. I ended up cuttig about 1/2" of material off the end of the tubes in order to use the longest factory bolt I could find, the one that goes through the upper left mount.
The bottom holes on the block are not tapped. You can use any old bolt with a nut and a washer on the back. I used a long SAE carriage bolt.

What I did to find the right sized bolts is take a bolt off my tranny in the car, and go to yardbirds or whatever, then find a nut that goes on good, then get the same type of bolt for the stand. One of them I had to use a long *** bolt and a nut on the other side, the 3 others bolt right into the engine where the tranny normally does.
It's impossible to find the right size bolts where I live. I looked everywhere from homo depot to metric america to criswell acura and nothing. So I bought a 1 meter length of m12 1.25 pitch all-thread and cut it into 4 pieces. Worked great but it just seems their should have been a better way. Oh well
I went to the junkbird today and picked up 4 tranny bolts off a 91 civic and they are exactly the same except about a 1/2 centimeter shorter than the B18 tranny bolts. Now I am waiting for my motor to get back from being hot tanked and pressure checked.
