I am at school right now in between classes, but about 20 min. ago i got pulled over for doing 95 in a 65 over a bridge! 268$ ouch! I know for a fact that i was only going about 85, but im still not use to the power the motor has. Anyways, their are a few problems. First, when i let off the gas and try and push it again very very lightly it jumps and shakes, it also does that when i decelerate. I need the side mount on the left side, so would that be the cause? Seconed i am running very rich and when ever i get on it, alot of black smoke shoots from the exhaust. Even when i am idling, i can see the smoke through the back hatch glass. Why is it running so rich? The last thing is the idle is jumpy and when its in neutral it will rev up to about 1500 and come down and it will do that several times then it comes back down. I am certain its the IAC so I will change that later tonight and see. Anyways sorry if this sounds confusing, but im in a rush and am late for clas! DAMN YOU H-T!

I know I was 'only' going about 60 or so.....it's a big deal because with it being 71, I can't take defense driving or anything of the sort because it's more than 31mph over the limit, which means it'd permanently go on my record

Your first problem *could* be related to the IAC, I know mine was....it was just like that. I cleaned it out, and haven't had either of the problems since (your first and last listed problems).

Dunno about the running rich part, it could be any number of things.

 

what ecu are you running

He also has VTEC.... Hopefully you'll get the idle issues ironed out.

have u changed the o2 sensor? thats what is causeing my idle problem. im suposed to have 2 sensors but sense i only have one it idles from like 500-1200

not saying yours has 2 sensors but could need a new one.

 

No when i got the test pipe done i got an o2 sensore bung welded and it seemed to run smoother. As for the idle, im not to concerned about that because all i have to do is mess with the IAC, but yes i am running the stock ecu, so i shouldnt be running rich right? See the part i dont get is that when i am at a light i can see the smoke coming up from the exhaust and it sometimes pours in my windows and burns the hell out of my eyes lol! But seriously why is it doing this? The motor is running strong as hell, ohh and for the comment about breaks.......I just started going down hill on a very steep bridge and i was in fith with about a little less than quarter throttle when it went from 60 to 80 in a slip sec! Hopefully i can get it figured out....thanks for the replies

That sux man. Get the speedo checked though I believe they can be off with swaps. Goodluck, and don't coming up on blind areas

I also got a ticket last week. Exhibition of acceleration. Dallas cop gave it to me. I can't find the fine amount anywhere. Not on the back of ticket, number on back of ticket dont say. Dallas county web site dont know. I am going to fight it. I think dallas is really stuggling for some kind of revenue and are ticketing the hell out of everyone.

 

Dude comon, you know when you first got VTEC (or rode in an equipped car) you wanted to hit it, again and again. Some peeps like it more then others. But as he stated he was going downhill.

Dude that sucks. I got mine in Garland, but from a State Trooper in an Expedition.

He gave me a full printout (I guess they carry printers now??), with all the info, my ticket info, his info, and a fine amount. It was like instantaneous. I was like WTF.

Then he snickered at me and said 'yeah, good luck with that, son' and walked off.

I've hired a lawyer to fight it for me....hopefully I can keep it off my record.

As far as Dallas, I live in Pleasant Grove....and there were NEVER any cops here. But within the last 6 months, I've noticed they hide behind TREES, park their motorcycle a good 500 feet away out of site, and freakin radar you just standing there being stealth.. They're soooo sneaky out here now.

 

dont feel bad. My friend swapped his B18C in his hatch. Same day and 30 min after completing the swap. He had a ticket. LOL
