Default FOr those who run a SMSP header on there ITR's I have a few ?'s

Well im in search of mor power in my car but I Dont want to mess with the internals since this is my daily driver. I went to the SOCAL meet last SUN and came accross A ITR and saw he had a SMS header I had never scene one in person and was amazed at the beauty of it and craftsmanship on it . I found out later that same car with stock intake and stock ECU and just SMS header and a 2.5 cat and 2.5 all they way back to a spoon N1 made mid 180WHP .

So naturaly I wanted one. my ? to all the ITR's here that have one what do u like and dont like about the header and could u give me your impressions on the Performance of the header and mabe some WHP #'s and your mods.

Basicly I want to be positve im spending a G in the right place.

My mods as of now are JDM 4-1, Comptech intake +ice box and SMS carsound 2.5 and a 2.5 copy cat of SMS's cat back on the car and it has HODATA everything else on the car is stock injectors FPR cam setting u name it. Car puts down 173.2 WHP and 124 tq any boddy want to extimate what she will put out with a SMS header on her.

Any and all feeback is apreciated
Thanks for your time

chris

Well seeing that you have a few more mods then Arno's R I would say that you could see 190whp with the right tuning.

Dave is a class act! I was fortunate enough to meet Dave way back and ended up with the first ITR header. He took the time to answer all my questions and even went to the dyno with me to help tune it! While the current design has made evolutionary changes since mine, the quality speaks for itself. Dave's attention to detail and customer service are also unmatched. His previous H-T post prove that. I give him two

Since the IB dyno reads so low, I'm sure you can hit 18x with your current setup probably at some other dyno.

Looking at your dyno and seeing what happened to my car with a similar header to SMSP, I think you'll be very happy with the results.

You should get an earlier torque rise with the tuned SMSP setup as well as lengthening the powerband in the high end. Instead of your torque dropping after 6500 RPM, it should extend further out to 7500 RPM and then start to drop, which will give you a stronger curve and that higher peak number that you want. If your current torque was just lengthened out to 7500 RPM you should hit 180whp+ peak at 8000 RPM. You'll break 180whp easy especially if you have cam/fuel tuning done on an SMSP header and 2.5" cat/exhaust setup.

wow, 7900 , early peak, SMSP owns man, that's probably one of the header that u wouldn't want to change after u get it, and i'm getting SMSP instead of hytech now i guess

I would be quite surprised if someone could drive this car and get caught "off the cam".......

This is a b18c5 right?

I have actually heard the opposite about the IB dyno. I heard it reads high.

From the words you're using, I would guess that you are trying to do what they just finished doing with my car.

Here is the graph the way the car is set up now. David Stadulis (SMSP) and Steve Sakai (SGT Racing/Hondata) cooperated to get this result on the dyno recently.

They could have easily seen 5-10 more horses up top if they weren't worried about the midrange.

They did this because they wanted a car that I could use on the track and not get caught off the cam.

The car's a delight to drive around town, too, and still averages 29.5 miles per gallon.

Since you already have the Hondata, I am sure you'll be able to get these or even better figures.

If this is the kind of thing you're interested in, I'm sure Dave ("SMSP" on Honda Tech) and Steve ("SGT" on Honda Tech) would share information.</TD></TR></TABLE> HOLLY **** THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT I MIGHT HAVE TO HAVE U BURN ME THAT HONDATA CHIP
