It should be interesting to see how much the Honda dealer will ask for.

I dont see a reason why they shouldnt bring it over here, but again you can never trust magazine articles. I'll believe it when i see it on my local honda dealer lot.

Yeah I hope they stay within MSRP. Markups suck, but unfortunately I think this will be one of those cars just like most other Hondas and markup will be inevitable because there will be a high demand.

One thing I'm definately concerned with though is the theft problem. Do you guys anticipate it to be as bad the ITR?

depends on what the interior will have...
but the motor is already here in the form of the RSX type S
so i don't think it will be like the DC2R phenomenon

Talking about theft problem........

A friend of mine had a 02' EP3......someone broke the window and stole both front seat.
I can't believe what will happen if that is a CTR.....may be they will take the whole car instead

Yeah that might be something to think about. Also the fact that the swap is more difficult than the B series swap (from what I've read, etc).

Wait, it says at the bottom of the article that Honda hasn't publicly announced that they will be brining the R over here. I'll believe it when HONDA says so.

It's not official...but then again when I first saw a PY ITR in Motor Trend in '99 I didn't believe it would ever come either.

Have you heard more about it somewhere? Will the USDM be very close to its JDM counterpart?

This car will be a big theft target. The DC5R, if it comes, will be even worse.

Interior, transmission, wheels, and cylinder head will be the hot items. Don't forget the suspension, the rear wing...etc etc.

I really doubt we would get the JDM version of the CTR... the UK has the CTR but it only has the 200hp motor like our rsx-s, unlike the 215hp JDM CTR motor. Im wondering if we would even get the LSD if this CTR came over, because the UK version doesnt. Either way its a good performer, i have a best motoring vid where they put the new and old CTR up against each other, and the new CTR is 3-4 seconds faster on a few road courses.

does this rule out the possibility of the DC5R coming here?

I was talking to my friends dad who used to work for Honda and he said the CTR should be in Canada around 2004. Should be the same as the euro ctr except we wont get the 17" wheels. He now works for Acura of can and said the dc5r would not be reaching Canada anytime soon... Who knows?

I just hate going backward going from Acura to Honda since I grew out of the Civics. I guess its true that Honda wants to keep the kiddy scene out of Acura's elegance and mature images. DC5R hopes seems to be fading away!
