OT: Ahh!!! Door ding!!!
ARGHHH
my first door ding!!!
I was on my way back from work, thought I'd stop by the dry cleaners to pick up my stuff. Anyways, pull up to a red light, and I spot this nice ITR with JDM front conversion waiting to turn left (I was in the inner lane). Saw some guage pods on the A pillar too.
Anyways, I pull into the strip mall, and the only parking spot around was between a Caravan and a Corolla. Since the van (driver side) and the Corolla both backed in, I tried to park closer to the Corolla, hoping that the Corolla wouldn't have a passenger, and I'd be okay.
Picked up my stuff, (the cleaners was pretty far from the spot), as I step out, I hear my warning for the shock sensor go off... Argh!!! As I walk up to my car, the van pulls away. I immediately inspect my door, and I didn't spot anything at first. I take a closer look, and damn! There's a very slight crease in the door that ran vertical, about an inch long, in the middle of the door about 3/4 back. Ahhh!!! I'm so pissed!!!
The dent didn't scratch the paint, and its hardly noticeable. But if you view it from an angle, you can definitely see the crease left by the van door.
Oh well, just had to vent. It had to happen sooner or later. I guess its not worth it to get paintless dent removal done on it. I did a search on dings, and someone mentioned that ice might work. Might try that this weekend to see if it works. Any other ideas?

I just had a paintless dent repair dude take care of my passenger side, which had a pretty deep circular door ding, and a butt crease (which I had caught the moron who leaned on my right rear fenderwell that hard) in the back right over the wheel well. Only cost me a little over $100 for both of them, and it took the guy a bit over an hour and a half to do it.
While he was unable to fully repair the butt crease, he managed to push it out just enough that you have to really look closely to tell it was there, and the door ding may as well never happened.
I'd definitely recommend the paintless dent repiar. Cause you gotta admint, this will keep bothering you every time you see it, and personally I think it is worth the money to make the car look perfect again and to return your peace of mind.
Wish I had an anti-tank rocket for those morons who don't give a rip about other people's babies.
My condolences.

try this one, while my friends r is parked outside the dmv trying to clear up a clerical error they made, some waste of air is taking his driving test, freaks out flooring the accelerator across the lot and right into my friends car...then the dmv lady tries to tell my friend he doesn't need to call the police just swap insurance info...finally her boss came out to chew her out saying, "why didn't you pull the ebrake handle"....anyways, thought this might make you feel better about your door ding
i dont knwo about the dry ice thing...i used to work in a lab and i stole a shoe box size of dry ice. i brought it out to my car (then a 1994 toyota celica gt) and i tried to take out a little, ok a pretty big dent. the dent was prob the size of a necturine. it didnt work. maybe the ding was too big, but it didnt work.

hehe... ROFL... thanks for that, don't feel as bad now...
The crease still bothers me, but I think I'll put off the PDR for now. Maybe if I get another more severe ding, I'll go for it. I guess I should just enjoy the car, and not worry too much about these minor things. Still hurts though...
