Integra Fatality --- on 280 near Foothill Expressway
My mom just called me to make sure it wasn't me. A yellow integra just lost control on 280 and split into 3 pieces. Supposedly the driver was killed. They said it was a yellow "racing" acura, so I am not possitive that it was a Type-R, but I am guessing it was. I hope it wasn't anyone we know, and I am sorry for whoever lost their loved one.

yoshi - who is still alive *checks self*
Lets not get into the old "WRX vs. ITR debate" again
but seriously... it could have been. But I was told it was a yellow racing integra.

I dont know were the 280 is but on my way home from alhambra on the 710 s this morning around 1:00 there was a horrible accident on the 710 n. The guy was laid out on a white blanket and it looked like his left arm was missing and his body looked pretty mangled. There was a bunch of white cop cars there and a spotlight was on the whole seen. The traffic was stopped northbound almost a half a mile. I couldnt see the cars or car that was involved but I did see the body. Did anyone else see this???

how did it all happen? Racing? or just a really really bad traffic accident?

It was on the news. A friend called me that night when he saw it, preying that it wasn't me. He said it was the same car I had, however he's not a total car nut so I dunno if it was that accurate.
This is what street racing does to you; if that was the case. Stupid street racers. Man I feel sorry for the R; I mean the guy driving it.

Its wrong to always say its "street racing" I cant tell you how many idiots I see get into accidents every day and its not street racing its just stupidity, people hurrying around to get nowhere faster.
Sure some accidents are street racing but alot of people are just dumb drivers

You got a point there Mike! There are so many absent minded drivers on the road. Some people are just just can't use some common sense when driving. It especially ticks me off when I see a driver talking on a cell phone (pet peave) while driving because its drivers like those who cause accidents.

Hey Importtuner,
Thats not as bas as when I had an old snobby rich lady behind me in her Benz, smoking in one hand and talking on the cell in the other!!!!
I kept looking back because she almost hit me a couple times when we hit traffic.!!!! Too bad the lane was only 1 lane..good thing nothing happened....

Hope it was nobody from this board. It's sad to hear this kind of stuff.
On the way up to Gingerman raceway last weekend (Michigan) a kid in front of us fell asleep and rammed in to the side rail and then spun off into a ditch and flipped the back of the car up so it was almost parallel to a tree. It was pretty messed up. He seemed to be okay considering though. Just some cuts and bruises.

I agree with TypeR MSM on this one. People are too quick to pin fatal accidents on "street racers". Truth is, that real street racing usually goes down between consenting parties in a desolate area. Usually industrial parks or old runways, stuff like that.
The weaving in and out of traffic and riceboy fly-by's are more prone to cause accidents than two adults racing down a 1/4 strip in a desolate part of town at 2am! My condolences go out to the fallen driver and his/her family. Regards.

George,
right on. I just went back to the District and was reminded about those damned Diplomats. I swear they actually try to run down pedestrians.

Until last week, 280 and Foorhill were on my commute. Any more details on this - I could not find any reference to this accident in local papers.
