Default 6x9 speaker converter thini's

i have a 99 civic ex. i don't like the way my alpine 6x9's sound in the back and i'd like to replace them with some 6.5's or some 5 1/4's, is there something i can get to convert the 6x9 space so one of these speakers can fit in there? haha

No, not really, the easiest way is just to make a template out or 1/4 MDF (the installers best friend) in the shape of the 6x9 then cut out a 6 1/2 out of that and if you have to, trim out some of the metal on the rear deck of the car ... or try putting an amp to the speakers, head units typically don't even come close to putting enough power to them to make then sound good. get a nice 4 channel amp (cross it over about 120- 160) and amplify the internal speakers.

crutchfield sells brackets to fit 6.5" speakers in your 6x9 opening. you can also mount a tweeter in the bracket if you plan on getting some components.
