Brank lamp light.
I'm sure your break lamp is out. Double check that when you hitt he brakes the second filament in the taillights goes brighter.
Also check your 3rd brake light in the rear window?

I had some funky no name rear lamp bulbs when I had clear tails a few years ago make that lamp illuminate when they were actually working, then i figured out clears were gay and went back to stock, no more light

I have the answer, had the same problem in may car, the bulbs in the 3rd breaklight went out, I replaced them but with the wrong bulds, the warning light works on a voltage drop, so if you have the wrong bulbs in the total voltage used may be different, thus casuing the warning light to come on
Also there are two bulbs in the 3rd brake light, make sure they are both working

no, the brake light will come on when the fluid is low. This is temp sensitive (and speed also). Colder temps shrinks the fulid, causing the light to come on more when it's cold, as does braking hard since this puts more fluid into the line. It will decrease as temp goes up. Check to make sure it's full... add a little DOT 3 or 4 (whatever you're using in it) and see if it goes out.
btw, i've never honestly seen a car where the brake light comes on if a bulb is burned out. Even right now, my 5th gen has had a blown bulb (ok not a brake, but a tail light) and it's not on. Even when I pulled the bulb completely with the ignition on it didn't come on... it did come on before but went away after adding some fluid.
That's why it says BRAKE LIGHT on the red light that's in the dash. I know, cause I took my third brake light bulb out, and the shitty thing stays there every time I drive the car. And it doesn't come on until I step on the brake for the first time each drive I take.
Anyway, I don't really WANT a bulb in there anyway. I was contemplating maybe puting a resistor inbetween the wires, so the warning light will go off (I don't feel like taking the console apart to take out the dash bulb. Anyone know what size risistor I'd want to get?
Thanks,
Dan P.

it's called a brake light because it indicates when the parking brake is on, and when the brake fluid level is low... it might do it for bulbs too, i'm just saying i've never seen it on because of that. I have because of the other reasons
like i said, that's my guess. If it goes away randomly and comes on either when it's cold, under braking, or on an incline maybe (or if it's just at the mark.. then randomly) it's most likely your fluid
