rim question on 5th gen
I just purchased some 18" rims and was wondering what tire size I would have to get for the rim. I was also wondering that if I got a higher series tire, would that lessen my wheel gap a bit. I am riding on stock suspension and want the car to look a little more aggressive than it does now. Thanks!
215/35/18 is going to be your tire size. if you put a larger series tire on you will hate the rubbing once you do lower it. if you are not planning on ever lowering it though then you could go to a 235/40 which would technically lessen your wheel gap but in turn will throw off you speed-o-meter.
So what if I were to purchase some new springs like the eibach sportline kit or pro-kit. Would that lower the car just enough to make it look more aggressive with the 35 series tire. I plan on purchasing some Teins down the road, but dont feel like spending hte money right now. Also, is anyone using this type of setup right now. 18's with either the sportline springs or pro-kit on stock shocks and struts. And does anyone have any pictures of their rides with this setup. Thanks
This has always been my answered question. What's up with us 97's that have the suspension arm in the way? It looks like it will rub my 205/40 just because of that arm. How can I go thicker without being afraid of the rubbing?

i have 225/40/18 on my 97. it used to rub in the back when i'd take quick turns... i have skunk2 coilovers.. have about a 1 finger gap all around. now it doesn't rub at all.. i guess whatever the tires was rubbing rubbed away.

just try to get the same size as stock..
some people like the low profile tires but the ride is little bit too hard
for daily commuting imo.
bigger rims, bigger tire will make your car looks like 4x4
eibach is good but can't beat the tein coilover setup.
it's going to be cheap if you just go straight buy the tein instead of wasting your
money and time.
do it right at the first time and it will save yourself alot of money.

I got my coils and shocks on. The ride is awesome man. I love these things. Hit bumps and the car barely even moves. I have low pro's and I love em. But I might go a little bit bigger just because they way things look around the wheel well which is empty. I don't think that Tein can compare to GC just because of the option that you have of custom spring rates. This is a very good concept.
