Default Samco Sport hoses H22 (from Euro Accord R)

Today, I received my Samco sport hose kit originally intended for a Euro Accord R. I had ordered it back in Jan or Feb from JDM Spec Performance (http://www.jdmspecperf.com/), but it took a while to make it's way to North America.

I took a preliminary look as to whether this kit will fit my 5th gen Prelude and so far I'm very confident that it will. The short top hose appears to be a bit too long, but other than that it seems ok.

I will be installing the kit most likely tommorrow or Wednesday night, so I'll take a few pics of the completed job when I get it finished, but for now here's a teaser:

Thats what they make clamps and zip ties for.

Well... since there isn't a Samco kit specifically made for the 5th gen Prelude I thought I'd investigate whether or not the Euro Accord R kit would work. I thought perhaps a few fellow Prelude owners would appreciate and find this information useful.

The kit is stylish and offers greater protection from losing a hose due to pressure or heat issues.

Samco makes exceptional silicone hoses. For quite some time, they have not been availible in the US. I used to get them about 4 years ago, but the US distributors stopped importing them. At the time they cost about $200

What did you pay for them?

I installed the hose kit tonight. Things went smoothly and the kit fits. The lower hose is perfect and the upper hose needed to be trimmed down on the rad side by around an inch. Using a clamp on the hose as a straight edge and a sharp knife yields pretty good results.

Seeing as how Samco doesn't make a proper Prelude kit (don't worry I've emailed them about this install), it's good to see that the Euro Accord R (CL1) kit works with very minor modification. Thanks go out to JDM Spec Performance for hooking me up with this kit when no one else would.

Here are a few pics:

Thanks. Well, if they have the same hoses as an H22, then yes.

First off, sweet hoses. Second, how does your car start and run with that small a$$ battery? What kinda is it? And also how hard was it to install your remote oil filter, if that is what it is next to the tranny? If not then i'm stupid.

The battery is a Hawker Odessey PC680 drycell; 14 lbs versus 40 lbs. It's not a problem in the spring/summer/fall at starting the car. Just don't leave it in for the winter or accesssories on while the car isn't running. Check this link for more info:

The oil cooler is indeed what you see and it's a totally custom job. I tried to document what I had done so check this link for more info:

Click the link to see some more pics (oil cooler is there, but shots haven't been updated for a little while):

There is not a noticable pressure drop when it is flowing. I mean you can't get away from it, but it's a very low drop with this oil cooler. I wouldn't have an exact number though. I'm usually running between 80-90psi on the track while at temp.
