Do JDM h22a's really shut off @ 112 mph?

you can get it chipped by a few people on this board to have the speed limiter removed

 

actually, mine's cut off around 118mph which is about 180kmph which is the max on the JDM clusters.

 

can obdII ecu's be chipped yet?

whats the max on the american prelude? I seem to recall it as being 140 or something. Is that true?

They actually go to 190.

 

A Field Vtec controller gets rid of the limit...

 

anyone topped out a 5th gen? Havent had the guts to lately

my buddy has a 92 Prelude with a JDM H22 and an ODB I ECU and he has the Fields controller and I know it has been well above 118.

 

118 is the governor...and my 4th gen has topped the 150 mark...im still trying to source my tranny code..one day

 

it will start bouncing off the rev limiter at about 153mph

 

yeah mine tops out at 119. wanna get rid of that cuz i get there really easily

 

dood, i bet you have the Accord Euro R tranny John. I was reading something about that car.. and at the very end of hte article it says "If you have a swapped h22, this is the tranny you want."

 

i have gotten my car up to 135 but i started getting real scared so i slowed down. everything gets real shaky and stuff going that fast!

 

damn that blows... ive had mine up to 139 and no shut off... (p14 h23)

 

I just checked my JDM cluster and it reads 190kmph.

 

how do you know it's really 118mph? you do realize that the speedo is probably off by a large margin at that speed and if you have smaller wheels that could effect the reading.

the reason why i mention this is cause i believe the japan law says 112mph, not 118mph. well the law is written in km/hr of course.

 

Well mine must be way off with 16" wheels 205/45/16 tires.. Cuts out, at speedo reading well over 120MPH
And I dont think peeps, are rolling on 13" rims, but you never know

 

well I have my stock rims with 205/50/15s. My speedometer reads 118mph. I put on some 185/70/14s on and reads around 118-120mph.
