A bunch of questions about further h22a civic 95 coupe hybrid modifications
Well, ill start off with a warning, im a total noob, so please, if you could, explain everything to me in detail, without any of those technical words, because i would simply not understand any of what you are saying.
Well, i got a civic 1995 coupe, and because the motor it had was simply "broken" when i bought it, i had to do a transplant, and after reading a bit on a couple of forums about h22a in a civic i figured, i'd go for it, so i gave my car to a workshop 3 months ago, and it is only minor things that are left for the techs to finish, and so i was wondering what should be my next steps for performance ( what engine mods would give the maximum output to the engine, and whats the maximum torque/whp could i expect at the end), as for the brakes, they are just standart honda civic 1995 coupe ones, with 2 rotors and calipers in front, and i heard that it is possible to install 2 in the back w/o much of a hassle, so the question is, what parts will i need to do that?. Also i wouldnt mind bigger brakes in front as well, because the current ones are simply terrible, i have already been in a minor accident because of them slow-stopping brakes even with that shitty motor the car had before, so anything that you guys can think of to make a civic with h22 stop easily, would be very welcome.
Another thing is suspension, all i would like to know is what would be the best setup for a street car, i do not plan on drag-racing, maybe a bit of street-racing, but thats it (England sucks ***)
; So if you guys could list in detail what sort of springs, coilovers, shocks, strut braces, anti-roll bars? would be best for this setup, itll be very much appreciated. (current suspesion is just stock honda civic coupe shocks and springs, around 5 years old too
)
Well thats probably all the questions i wanted to ask, please, keep in mind, that i do not know anything about what is that and what it does, so after you list it, ill probably just go to the shop and order the stuff you adviced me about.
Thanks in advance, i hope i'll see some replies in not-to-distant future, otherwise im fucked

Ok. To help you out a bit:
It seems to me you have an H22 in your Civic already, and you're wanting to upgrade the motor, brakes and suspension for street racing, correct?
For upgrading the motor, I would recommend getting Intake (an AEM Cold Air intake for an Integra Type R will do fine with an h22 in your engine bay already), header (for ideal, I would recommend the Hot shot header for your appication stating you wish to road race).
As for brakes, I would recommend you jump on the fastbrakes wilwood kit. They also have rear disc conversion, I believe.
For suspension, I would recommend you get upper strut tower bar, rear strut tower bar, rear lower tie bar, and get yourself a better front sway bar (possibly 20mm) and purchase a rear sway bar (23mm ish), as for damper system, I don't know what is available in England, but maybe Integra Skunk2 coil overs, Ground Controls or if yoiu want to get more hard core, get some Tein/Zeal damper systems.
HTH.

Thanks for the input poison, i did a search on wilwood brake kits, and they dont seem to be very popular in england, so they can be very rough to get ahold of, are there any other alternatives?
Would also like to know more about that Tein/zeal damper systems you mentioned, so far i know that you get shocks and springs with the kit, will i need to instal coil overs and ground controls( what are those? ) after installing the kit?
Thanks again poison
, willing to hear more ideas please guys

hmm, there are a lot of options for brakes. I would go to fastbrakes.com and see about it. or search around for brake upgrades. sorry, i don't know what's available in England.
as for ground controls, they are just a set of coil overs. if you purchase tein/zeal's then that is the whole damper set up and you will not need anything else spring/coil over/shock wise.

Okie, thanks poison.
As for brakes, the kits here in england are very expensive, they are like 1000 pounds ( 1600$) for a front rotor and disk upgrade, and i was wondering wether there is a cheaper way of doing it ( like taking it off another car for example?), same goes to the rear brakes adding.
And would like to know more about engine modding ( top end power achievable ) and more engine mods that are out there, beside what poison just listed
