what sized piping should i use on my exhaust?
i was thinking of gettn a greddy mx, but i wanna get an exhaust that looks very stock. so i'm thinking about getting a es oval muffler, and getting some hooker dual 2 inch tips (stock is 1.75). i have a b16, and i plan to throw in skunk2 II cams and resleeve it so its a 1727 motor. so, its gonna need to breathe. should i use a 2.5 cat back piping? or go w/ something small like 2.25? i wanna get a good balance of hp and torque gains from the motor.
in my opinion i like the thermal they look and sound real nice....2.25 should be fine with a catback with some headers. even a custom system would work so you could also do 2.5 piping...its really up to you....2.25 is good for stock basically i dont know how soon or how serious u are with the cams and sleeving. just my .02
I just picked up the mx. I am putting it on on thursday. I painted the rear section black, for the less obvious look. I suggest getting a mx, paint it black, and get a 2 1/4 inch tip painted black. That is the ultimate, in my opinion. Ryan
go with the 2.5" piping. You will lose some low end (who cares, really). But once you start building your "B" it will really wake up the motor.
