swap not running right...i need some help????
here is the problem its a d15b2 engine....
it starts ok sometimes and idles a little high but no problem..i can even rev in neutral without too much trouble and it sounds ok..
now when i throw it in 1st it will move then just die..then it wont start for about another 30 min. also the engine coughs..hiccups...whatever you want to call it as i accelerate or rev...
now i didn't do this swap, the guy who bought and removed my old engine did it and i had confidence in him however something gut fu$#ed up along the way...
now its the d15 DPFI engine but its plugged in to a d16 MPFI ecu right now so that may be a problem...i don't know???
all vaccum hoses ok, fuel is ok, spark plug/wires ok, grounds ok, plugs sensors are ok...so what the hell???? any ideas?

i would think because your runnin a mpfi ecu thats yoru problem, get a dx ecu and u should be fine, hopefully that will fix it
ok i got my DX ecu in there...and it seems i may of found the problem
the car only starts when i way advance the ignition timing by turning the distributor then i idles smooth when i return the distributor to its stock location...
also it drives fine except for when i allow it to idle after accleration then it dies...so it seems to me like a timing problem..and also the rotor on the distributor is very wobbly which i think may account for the inconsistancy in starts, etc.

fix the rotor on the distributor before it breaks somehting, tehn goto the autostore and get yourself a timing light, sounds like your timing is way off.
