I NEED SOME HEAD advice for a D15, or D16
What other Heads will fit on the D15, VTEC or non. Or would it be better to go D16. dont feel like dropping cash on a B series just yet.
If I do go with a D16, then can I use my same Trans or will it have to be swapped as well.

same tranny.
D16A6 head is the same external head casting, but has a less agressive cam.
D16Z6 and D16Y8 head bolt right on. Z6 head requires mods to the A6 dizzy to work with an 88~91 Si ECU. To use the Z6 dizzy you need to convert to OBD-1.
Y8 head allows you to use the 88~91 dizzy with no mods.
ZC head won't work.

the d16y7 head is a non vte head which outflows the crap out of the a6 head.
the y8 intake manifold is slightly better than the z6 but you have to figure out a way to mount an intake temp sensor on a runner.

There are sooo many d-series possibilties...My choice would be a6 head/block with some intege pistons. Build a high comp. monster. These little d's can be fast if your smart....but I'll take a DOHC VTEC any day of the week.
So the Tranny will be fine, and if I read correctly, the D16y7 Head will work on my D15 block. If the d16y7 is a better head where can I look for one IE what car had one with it.
I will look into getting a D16 if it is truly worth it, Im new to hybrid stuff so bear with me. Im 35 and getting into the honda drags is alot of fun, but a little lost with all the parts and such. Im a stereo Installer that is turning into a wannabe tuner.
