Only Bass Coming out of 6x9s

A friend of mine has a Sonoma, and his 6x9s are only putting out bass, do you guys have any idea what happened to the speakers? They were working before but right now just bass.

Blown tweeters is my guess, if nothing else has changed.

Are they running off an amp, or just the head-unit? If there's an amp pushing them, make sure it isn't switched into "low-pass" mode.

Some pioneer headunits have an option to only put bass to the rear speakers. So if he has a pioneer headunit that might be it.
