Default J's Racing Intake owners: I have a quick question

I was wondering if the noozle on the intake for the small hose is flush on the inside of the intake? I figure for a Carbon fiber intake, they would have to have a noozle that is threaded into it there for making it stick out in the inside of the intake. Would this cause turbulance that would affect HP?

What hose that goes inside? The j's should have the hose on a tab like all other intakes.

If so, I hope you bought your intake from a reputable seller...

it only stick into the intake inside just a lil bit, maybe 1/4 inch

I doubt it makes any difference...

Cool, reason I ask is I just bought a knock off for $120 and doesn't have this noozle so I'm going to drill and put one in. I was just afraid of the little air turbulance if any since the noozle is going to be about 1/4" in there.

Why not just run a catch can instead of drilling out the intake?

My thoughts exactly. B-series love catch cans anyway.

Would it be pointless to run a catchcan since there won't be vaccum in there to circulate air? I thought a catch can was just to be able to circulate clean air back into the intake. Am I not understanding this correctly? If this is the case, should I just use a breather filter and a long hose extension and locate it near the bottom of the car? It will allow it to vent and I won't have oil splatters on the engine. TonyXcom suggested this and sound like a good way of venting it out.

That's not the hose to connect to a catch can. The engine sucks air in from that hose (valve cover). The catch can should be between the PCV valve and intake manifold.

If you don't want to drill an hole in the intake, put a small K&N filter on the valve cover....

If I just put a filter on the valve cover, there will be oil splatters all over the cover so I may just run an extension and filter and relocate it down low.

dont put the filter on the valve cover... it doesn't give proper ventilation at all.

Throw out some opinions out on what I should do for the noozle please. My options are as followed:

-breather filter on the valve cover with long hose extention to relocate it
-Catch can(but I'm unsure how to install and don't know which to get(some have 3 noozles and some have 2))
-tap a noozle into the filter and just use that(which would be the cheapest way to go

nice noozle

I will never understand why people keep putting these hot-air intakes on thier R's... I guess I need to drive one and feel the throttle response...
