motorswap= redlining at 7500 help!!!
What's going on people. I've got a situation that has had me stumped for awhile now.
My buddy has a 94 civic si hatch with a 94 gsr engine swap. The problem is, is that the car redlines at 7500 rpm's. At first we thought it was the msd system so we removed it but it still does it. Next, he put a skunk 2 chip with a 9200 rpm redline in it with no luck. We've changed every sensor that I could think of and the damn thing still cuts off at 7500. My question is, what the hell could it be???!!!
If you're wondering the engine harness is off of a 95 gsr in the civic's cabin harness. Oh, by the way, we've already tried other gsr ecu's, so please don't recommend that. Thanks for all your help.

my buddie had the same problem in his crx. after changing eveything posible we started looking at the harness and it turned out to be that the part of the harness that goes through the firewall was cut in serveral places. so look for any shorts or any wires stripped on the harness.
Another thing just to check, even though it may not be but won't hur to double check.... what ECU is it (what's the code on it)? Is it an auto ECU or a 5-spd for sure? If it's auto, and you chipped, it, did you jump the location J1 with a wire or something to close the circuit? If not, and if you do have an auto ECU, then it's still running the stock auto settings. Also, any CEL's showing?
This is just one other thing to make sure of. I'm only bringing this up because this was the problem for somebody else's car and it led to that problem.
