CEL came on ...just need some help.
This weekend I decided to polish up my spoon header...the good news is the header looks nice
bad news is I now have a check engine light on
After I polished up the header I went to wash it off with some simplegreen to get rid of any oils. When I rinced it off I didnt realize the o2 sensor was underneeth it and it for very wet.
Can thoes things get wet?
But that leads me to where I am now. The car seams to run fine so I dont think it is anything bad. I jumped the connector under the glove box and after 1 short flash I get a long flash about every 2.5 seconds and it just keeps on flashing. Can anyone give me a little help here? I would just like to make sure it is my o2 sensor before I have to spend like 185 for a new one.

oh joy...I just tried it again and now my dash looks like a christmas tree. The ABS light is flashing (3 time) then repeating, the SRS light is now on. hmm mabye it might be a wise decision to take it into the dealer. Will they charge to see whats wrong with it?

seams to be better now. Mabye the o2 sensor dried out. I reset the ECU again and this time it seamed to do it. All seams well, but I still am a bit curious of o2 sensors are waterproof.

dont take it to dealer. you can get the code. and find out what is wrong. like you said, it could of just gotten wet and needed some drying. it would of saved you a few bucks
when I took off my intake manifold last time I got some coolant on the o2 sensor. I just unplugged it and let it sit there for a couple minutes and then plugged it back in
ditto with no need to take it to the dealer. just get the code and post back here if you cant figure out how to solve the problem with the CEL
