Default H22 guys... what clutch you guy running?

ever since this happened....

I've been having a strange noise coming from clutch assembly, I suspect some metal debris shot up into the clutch and fucked up my TO bearing and pressure plate.

So now I'm on the search for a good clutch, any suggestions? I do drag race the car quit a bit but I dont want clutch that would chatter while driving normal.

I will attempt to do the clutch with the motor in the car I think its possible. Has anyone ever done it? thanks.

Im still running the stock clutch cuz right now it seems fine, but when I do get one I was planning on getting the ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate w/ Hybrid Street Disc Kit.

ACT Heavy duty pressure plate and ACT high performance street disc are an excellent combination.

I'm running a CM Stage 3 with the Street PP (forget exactly which one).

Pedal effort is EASY, no chatter (was some for about 200 miles, but now it's completely gone).

I finally got it fully broken in, it grabs clean and HARD

EDIT: Jdmdxturd did a clutch install with it in the car. Not the easiest thing, but it can surely be done.

my freind is running the cm stg 3, engages like a bat out of hell, yet when not racing can be as gentle as almost a stock...but man when you engage it hard...it grabs..it shocked his car enuff the it shook loose his vss or also refered to as his speed sensor...mad pull!

That's what we sell and what I ran in my H22 (even with a 100 shot of NOS on it). It's the Hyper Stage 2 clutch (sold one to a fellow H-T member when he bought a H22 swap from us) and it grabs very good off the line, but is still very easy to use for daily driving. It uses an ACT disc and has pretty good life.... I ran it for about a year with lots of drag racing (and runs with a 100 shot of NOS), and also used it on the road course at Buttonwillow.... worked great and gets my

Any clutch you get will be ok for daily driving..... after 1-2 weeks of constantly driving your car, you'll get used to it and know how it work with it in stoplight-to-stoplight driving and in traffic.

I'm running stock flywheel/pressure plate/clutch right now and it grabs just fine. I'll be switching to Fidanza flywheel with CM stage 3 once I get inside the area and do an M2B4 lsd swap

You still have the broken bell housing ?

should get that replaced bro!

A friend of mine's car.... rebuilt it with the following:

Ross custom pistons, 12.5:1, pnp head, sleeved block, eagle rods, Pro-drive oil pump, hondata gasket, fidanza flywheel, skunk2 stage2 cams, skunk2 gears, ferrea valves, hotshot header......

After he took it out and drove it around the block w/open exhaust, he said it pulled much harder and that he can definetely feel the difference with the lightened flywheel. Looks like the Fidanza flywheel is a winner for the H22 setup.

Unfortunately, nothing yet, nor will there be anything until the summer time. He just finished it up last week but then he's going to have surgery done so he'll be on crutches for 6-8 weeks and won't be able to drive it. I give him **** for that but he's also hating it. Such a waste.... for the next 6-8 weeks at least

I am running an ACT Extreme Pressure plate with the Performance organic disc with an 8.5 lb clutchmasters flywheel. I love the setup and it grabs hard as hell. And personally, I prefer to do a clutch on my car (with the motor in) than on other stock cars like GSR's and SI's and so forth. There is a lot less stuff to work around. I have taken my tranny off seven times since I have had the motor in my car and have never had a problem.

CM Flywheel and ACT Extreme Street Clutch. Has been in the engine since I had the Accord and still grabs and pulls fine...

My 2 cents

well I changed my clutch today. It was fairly straight forward not as hard as I thought it would be. Me and my friend(him mainly)threw the new clutch in expecting it to solve the noise problem I was having but unfortunately we found out the clutch and TO bearing were fine but we changed it anyways. We put everything back together and started her up...****** A.... the noise was still there so we start figuring the trans is done. My friend tells me that the starter sounds funny upon engaging the flywheel mmmmmm.... so I start thinking, I either fucked up the flywheel or something is not right with the starter. So I'm already in the hole for 280 bucks and I figured why not get a new starter is only 130 bucks so I went and got one. I put the new starter up and WTF!! the noise is even louder with the new starter, so yank out the new starter put the old one back in and went to return the new starter. I hop in my car after putting the old starter back in and started the car... she starts right up WITH NO NOISE WHATSOEVER. I was NO WAY this is to good to be true so I turn it off and started it up like 5 times and made no noise what so ever, I'm still skeptical about the whole ordeal. The noise it was making was like clanking noise as if the flywheel were hitting something and it would get louder when I released the clutch pedal and would only go away when the car was warm. I'm totally stumped and happy the noise is no longer there, but I wont get my hopes up cause this is too good to be true. well anyway I just wanted to share.
