Need help from some tech's, what's wrong with my car?!?!?
ok, my car won't start. When i turn it to the II position I hear the main relay click. I thought that the relay is only supposed to click once, my relay clicks multiple times, also I looked at the ecu to check for codes and the light flashes with the relays clicks (everytime relay clicks, ecu flashes). Also, the check engine light on the dash flashes simultaneously with the ecu and relay. I heated up all the connections on the back of the relay, and it's clicking so I don't think it's bad. At first I thought it was the ecu but i chenged that and it still does the same thing. My dad seems to think it is the ignition switch because before it stopped working altogether, sometimes you could wiggle the key in the ignition and hear the fuel pump cut on, then it would start. It no longer starts. The problem is the fuel pump isn't cutting on, but it's still good because we hotwired it to the battery and it works. Does anybody have any suggestions, anyone had this problem also? Please help me, I need my car.
Update-It's not the relay, we replaced that
also i don't think two ecu's could be bad! let me know

starter is new, battery cables are good, battery is new. we had an idea that it may be a loose ground, how many grounds are there and where???
also, we just replaced the distributor and still nothing!!! is there a fuel pump relay somewhere?

ok, i looked at an archived topic about grounds and it says there is supposed to be one going to the thermostat housing? where does the other end of the ground to the thermostat housing go?
Please i'm counting on you guys helping me today!!!

well the ignition switch is by no means old. It was replaced about a year ago, and we pulled it and it's getting juice to all four wires. One of my cousins friends that works at AutoZone (used to be a used car tech or something) came by and took a look at it and he seems to think there is a short in the wiring somewhere in the cluster of wires coming out of the underhood fuse box? maybe he's right, i have no clue. anybody else??? I took a look at it and i don't have a ground going to the thermostat housing, but i do have a ground going to valve cover-chassis, batter-chassis, chassis-tranny. i don't think one ground would cause the car not to start. anybody have a problem like this anytime?? I think we are done for today, my cousins friend is gonna come by tomorrow and run some kind of tester to see if he can find a short in the wiring. I hope he finds something, so i can drive my car again!!! thx for the help

Yup, it's the ECU ground!

so even if i have all the other grounds hooked up, if i don't have the thermostat ground hooked up the car won't start because it controls the ecu??? anyone have a pic of where the grounding points are for the thermostat ground wire??? If it's just a ground wire that's not making the ecu work, that could be the problem. help please!
