you need the ac braket from the gsr and the hoses that run from the compressor out. upper and lower.

WTF?

Do it the easy way.

Get an entire Civic a/c system....You can get EVERYTHING brand new as a kit for $700 from Hondaautomotiveparts.com (pretty good considering just a compressor by itself is almost $500.)

Then just get a Del Sol VTEC a/c bracket (p54).

when you guys say "AC bracket", do you mean the part that holds the pump to the block?

Or you can save yourself alot of money and do it even easier and take off the a/c comp.

For one simple reason: You are spending lets say close to a thousand for i/e/h and thats making you what 10 hp's. Well if you are going to spend that much to add 10, why not take off something and get another 10 hp FREE!
My motor will be running Sunday (JDM GSR-EH HATCH) and i initially wanted A/C and went to Honda to get the Del Sol DOHC Vtec A/C bracket, but later took it back(cost me 150.00 ) There was another bracket that i needed that extended to a pulley and i said **** that, so i took it back.
just my 0.2 cents

you make a good point, but doesnt the AC not really drain any significan amount of power unless its accualy running? the only benifit i could see would be the weight.

Telling somebody to just take off the a/c system because you can gain (not really anymore than 1-3hp, maybe more when the a/c is engaged, but why would you be racing with the a/c on anyway? Anybody that knows anything would turn it off before you race) is a mute point.

You know...some people don't like driving around sweating with their backs sticking to the seat.....me being one of them

That's true, but I'm just curious as to WHY? At least knowing you have the ability to turn the a/c on if you get too sweaty is awesome.

I can understand some cars never had a/c etc. But I cannot fathom why somebody would strip a working a/c system.

Why not just keep it off?? Or take the belt off? That way if you ever want to sell it, you're not going to lose 50% of your consumer base right off the bat.

Reason: Since i had already spent 150.00 at honda for a delsol dohc vtec a/c bracket, then realized i needed to spend more I decided to take it off for now because i am still finding things that need to be changed over from civic to gsr. Basically I dont have enough money right now lol! No one understands how much TIME and MONEY go's into a hybrid swap.......The junk yard has become my best friend!

Ah, good points.

What else did you need to buy though?

When I had a b18b, all i bought was the p54 bracket, and it worked great.

not sure how to explain it, but i needed some braket that connects from my A/C comp. bracket to a little pulley that sits on top of the larger one that turns the a/c belt. get it? Sorry if its confusing

Anyways, I am starting to like this forum more and more

1.) Pertains to the info that I want to know(which is hybrid)
2.) Good info and reliable info too
3.) People are alot more relaxed and willing to help in here and you dont get odd ball people trying to down you or saying random dumb things when havent even put time and hard earned money into their car!

Great forum
