Use just a little Hondabond HT on the corners of the valve cover gasket, eight spots in all. You can use oil as assembly lube, but there are a few people around that insist assembly lube (like ARP moly lube) is the only way to go. Just make sure to install the cam caps in the right locations, they are numbered. Torque the 12mm bolts to 19 ft/lbs. and the 10mm bolts to 8 ft/lbs.
Some people use a little Hondabond on the cam caps at the ends to prevent oil leaks (not the middle cam caps), just a touch. And on the cam plug at the end of the exhaust cam.
anyone have some detailed pics..actually will the helms manual tell you exactly how to do it cause im gonna be using one of those
I'd use assembly lube if I was building a motor on a stand, but if you're putting this cam in a car that you're going to start up when you're done, oil is fine.
It's kinda hard to describe where the drops of Hondabond go. There's a little corner created when you put the caps on the head. It's hard for the gasket to fill that little corner. That's where it goes. You could actually use any hi-temp RTV. I got Permatex Ultra at my local auto parts store and saved some money.

He should be able to see where the silicone sealer goes b/c of the residue on the bottom of the (4) outer caps. Use a thin smear.
