you can use regualr oil as a lube, but when i installed mine i used thick compound,called engine assemble lube.

Keep in mind that your engine should be bone cold before you open it up. This way you'll avoid breaking off bolts in the head when they are warm. Use Engine assembly lube available from Autozone of Pep Boys. Also remember that if you are switching camshafts, you will need to preform a valve adjustment right then and there. Running around on valves not adjusted to your new camshaft specs can do damage if you're not careful. Where in SoCal are you located? I might give you a hand if you could use it

Grab a manuel, take your time and get some people to help out. More people always help. Especially since someone right above your last post offered help. I'd talk with him and use his help, especially since he knows what he is doing.
